What an absolutely a-ma-zing year 2015 has been! The many adventures at home and abroad, the new friends we’ve made… All in all a year like no other. Looking back a few things stick out the most:
January: My dear friend from Dallas visited & helped me celebrate my 40th with a visit to my favorite city in the world: HAMBURG!
February: A short but cold month with a taste of snow.
March: The light is back – the days are getting longer which means I can start sewing for the warmer months and we are back to being outdoors more and indoors!
April: Spring break means time to travel! First up Lueneburg:
then Timmendorfer Strand:
and finally a long anticipated trip to Brussels (with daddy!):
Finally, our first Easter in Germany:
May: Warm temperatures and long days mean lots and lots of time by the sea! Plus soccer tournaments!!
A little sight seeing in our neck of the woods with gorgeous sunshine and selfies!
June: We celebrated having moved to Germany a year ago and soaked up the sun, enjoyed Kiel Week.
It really sunk in for us how much had changed in our lives since our move. Band enjoyed having lived in Germany for one year!
July: School graduations! Finally summer!
August: Summer, Sunshine, travel …
September: Back to school, new friends and three birthdays to celebrate!
October: fall break and more travel!
A visit to the capital of Germany!
Back in Kiel boys are showing off their new jerseys and hoping Kiel will vote ‘yes’ on the Olympic nomination for 2024…
The kids are becoming real music lovers after six month of regular weekly classes!
November: My new volunteer position at Isaiah’s school turns into a full time job with non-stop prep for school’s holiday bazaar. Good thing, daddy arrives just in time to lend me a hand! And celebrate Thanksgiving of course!
December: The month that wraps it all up – literally! It’s cozy indoors with lots and lots of QT by candle light!
Our second Christmas in Germany! With temperatures right above freezing and very short days it truly feels like Christmas.
Many family dinners out by candle light!
Lot’s of organic, local hot chocolate (WITH whipped cream!) and cheese cake!
Stella’s favorite indoor activity: Drawing! And writing her name! I just love her signature character that she draws and how she writes her name! 🙂 The ‘E’ combined with the ‘L’ in her name just crack me up … 🙂
I took the above picture with my early Christmas gift: A new system camera! Finally I can take some decent pictures. Had about enough of the iPhone pics… Now if only I would study the whole instruction booklet and know the numerous features of this camera… I’m afraid the ‘iA’ (intelligent automatic) button has to do for right now. All below pictures are taken with my new Panasonic Lumix system camera!
Christmas day spent with my nephews bowling!
The day after Christmas we got to visit our dearest friends C&T. They have absolutely spoiled us with the yummiest dinner E V E R! With a goose that yummy I could never be a vegetarian. Thank you C & T for your hospitality. You make the holidays extra special for us.
On Sunday after all days of wining and dining we headed straight back to (soccer) business! Back to back games leave only minutes to eat and analyse game performance…
That’s true multi-tasking I’d say: ButchMo doing what he does best, he coaches Isaiah during game breaks while holding Stella – aka Daddy’s girl!
Looking back at all my pictures and journal entries of 2015 my heart bursts with gratefulness. I am truly blessed. I thank God that I get to live this life with this family right now in this very place. Cheesy I know, but true…
Happy new year my loves. Hope you’ll find time to stop and smell those roses…
